One of the benefits of our location in Cathedral Heights is that we have a plethora of places, shops, and events in the area, and most are within walking distance! Here’s a quick round up of some spring events in the area that we think are exceptional!
Tenleytown Main Street and Rock Creek Conservancy 8th Annual Rock Creek Extreme Cleanup
The newly-formed Tenleytown Main Streets organization will lead the effort to help clean up Rock Creek Park in honor of Earth Day, removing trash and also weeding and mulching tree boxes. Sign up for the event on April 23rd, from 9am to 12pm.
Volstead’s Picnic in the Park
Have you ever wanted to attend a Downtown-Abbey style party? This is your chance! One block away, at the National Cathedral, Dardanella presents “Volstead’s Picnic in the Park,” a new event where 1920s period costume is required, and food is served based on menus from the pre-war era. Tickets are still available for this event on Saturday April 30th.
National Cathedral Flower Mart
Just a block south of us, the National Cathedral hosts the annual Flower Mart, a market and fair that has been running for the past 77 years! All proceeds from the event benefit the gardens and grounds surrounding the Cathedral. Mark your calendar for May 6th and 7th on the grounds of the Cathedral.
ZooFari at the National Zoo
It’s like Taste of DC – at the Zoo! Sample food and wines from 100 of DC’s best restaurants, surrounded by exotic animals. Tickets required for this event on the evening of May 19th.
