Whether your prefer your gin as a martini or a negroni, a rickey or a Tom Collins, a distillery tour is something every gin connoisseur should experience. Luckily for gin-lovers living at 3333 Wisconsin Apartments, DC is home to a number of buzz-worthy craft distilleries, each of which provide a sneak peek into the gin-making process, from the barrel to bottle. Here are three to visit this weekend:

1) New Columbia Distillers
You've probably noticed (or tasted!) Green Hat Gin featured in cocktails at bars all around the District , and now you can sip the stuff straight from its source. New Columbia Distillers, the makers behind Green Hat, open their converted warehouse to the public every Saturday between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. During that time, the distillery's staff leads complimentary guided tours that culminate in free tastings. Don't skip New Columbia's bottling parties!

2) One Eight Distilling
Churning out gin, whiskey, and vodka, One Eight Distilling is said to be an under-the-radar gem in Ivy City. Head to the brick warehouse between the hours of 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on a Saturday, and enjoy a complimentary, 30-minute tour throughout the 7,500-square-foot distillery. Free samples are provided at the end of every tour, and if you plan your visit right, you'll also be able to pair your spirits with for-purchase food from local vendors. This Saturday, August 1, for example, will feature fare from DC Central Kitchen Fresh Start Catering.

3) District Distillery
Okay, so District Distillery isn't exactly open yet, but it's worth having this American restaurant-meets-distillery on your radar. According to Eater DC, the distillery, which will occupy a two-floor, 8,000-square-foot space at 1414 U Street, is aiming for an early 2016 debut. Small craft whiskey will be the draw here.
